How Do You Know if College Interview Went Bad

I was really nervous, and forgot everything to say. I had a break for a long time, and i was not making sense. I did non say much about why i wanted to do that course in particular. They could tell i was nervous, because my words would just non come out. I kept repeating the same thing. i was all over the place I didnt actually answer their questions properly as i would jump to the next topic. My answers were not clear. OMG i am so upset.
Has this happened to whatsoever of you before and did you lot become a place?

Oh and when volition i be hearing from them again to detect out if i have a place or not?

I didn't have an interview, but it was more like a word/presentation at UCL. One of the lecturers looked at me, and kind of indicated me to speak, and so I spoke, but I pretty much had no idea what I was talking nearly xD Pretty much BSed my way through, information technology was obvious I was making information technology up as I went, and at the end I was even like "Erm... I don't really know... Someone assist me out" xD Merely I notwithstanding got a place so theres still hope :') Then again, I might non have been assessed on that so I don't know.

Anyway, you should hear back from your university in 1-2 weeks. And I'yard pretty sure you're not the only one in the globe to mess upwards an interview, there are plenty of nervous candidates. You over thinking the situation also makes you think it went worse. Also, stressing about it won't change the situation, so but relax and await

I had my 1st interview a couple of days ago, and i was 100% pct convinced i failed that interview, i didnt answer questions correctly, i wasnt prepared for it tbh, and left with no hope basically. and so a couple days later i get an email with an offer so at that place is hope!

I'thousand applying for Physics and accept had two interviews, they didn't get particularly bad, but neither were bang-up. One piece of advice which can utilize for any bailiwick is what one of the undergrads told me regarding the interviewer:

They like physics, they like people who similar physics, and you similar physics. You'll be fine.

I think it actually brings in the human aspect of the interviewer, they desire you to practice well and are not trying to trip yous upward.
At York they said that 90% of people who get an interview volition get an offer, the interview is but to make sure you're non insane and it gives them an opportunity to show off their university.

Don't worry, there is nothing you can exercise now. Both of the unis replied promptly, they both took two days.

Which uni & bailiwick? Many of them (including Russell Group) apply interviews to go people on campus, and promote the university to them, to endeavour and get the candidate to cull the university. Oxbridge interviews these are not - they'll give an offer to 99% of people they interview.

BTW guys information technology looks similar i did non mess up. I'm in! Yay!

Congratulations! Which course?

Radiotherapy and oncology

Information technology's very hard to tell how you did in an interview every bit yous cannot expect considerately. For instance in 1 of my Cambridge medical interviews I ended upwardly saying that an exponential curve was a quadratic  and so when I realised my mistake instead of correcting myself I tried to defend myself by saying that I was rubbish at maths... Just I still got an at least a 7/10 in that interview see I'm not a consummate idiot...

Essentially information technology is, equally I said higher up, very difficult to exist able to accurately tell how yous did. You do not know what they are actually looking for in every question (a lot of the time a correct answer is merely one of the things they look for) and then you could really have done well :P Good luck either way.

I'thou just curious.

They asked me things like why i'd similar to do that specific course. What qualities/skills would i demand. My hobbies and things. And also asked nearly the nuts of the course. Then i guess it'south a mixture of both

I had, what I thought was a bad interview at UCL for English, but I was still offered a place. So, what you might recall is bad probably isn't! And they'll understand that you were nervous.

And yeah, you should hear dorsum within a few weeks

Hi, I just recieved my response to say that I failed my group interview. I don't hateful to audio over confident but I am 26 years old, well travelled and feel that I am more than capable to complete an occupational therapy course. I cant aid but call up that it happened because it wasnt the right course for me so I am looking at other courses of interest. My question is, is it really that difficult to get a identify? Besides am I too belatedly? I am absolutely gutted!

Hello Alisia,

Sorry to hear yous didn't through the grouping interview phase. It can be very hard when yous get a knock back like that but you mustn't allow it knock your confidence. You could email the person who interviewed you and inquire them for feedback so you lot know what went well and what you could improve on next time.

You could apply again or apply for the same grade at different Uni if you feel that might piece of work meliorate for you. Yous could even try looking at dissimilar courses to meet if at that place is something else that catches your eye.

Here at Solent, nosotros take many mature students (21+) in starting time twelvemonth so you wouldn't exist the minority! It is very normal for students to commencement Uni during their 20's as they commonly have a better idea of what they desire to do.

Don't surrender!

I hope this helped, if yous have any more than questions feel gratis to enquire.

Rachel
